Note: Always provide us with the actual measurement of the window opening. We will make the necessary deduction of approximately 3/8" to your blind's width to allow room for installation and for proper movement of the blind within the window opening. No deductions will be made to your height. Blind height tolerance may vary up to +2 1/4".
Outside Mount
Before you start measuring, decide where above your window opening you want to mount your blind. You will need at least 2 1/8" of flat vertical space above the window to mount the brackets. The blind can be installed directly above the window opening, or higher up to give the appearance of a larger window and to have more clear space in the window when the blind is raised.
If you have trim around the window, you can mount the blind above the trim, directly on the trim (if you have the required minimum flat space for the brackets), or to the sides of the trim if you do not enough mounting space above the window or on the trim itself. It's not often that we can use the words "innovative" and "wood blind" together, so we're excited we can wholeheartedly say it about this blind! Three unique and proprietary features give this blind better closure and light blocking than other traditional wood blinds. First, the holes in the slats for the lift cords are small and positioned at the back of each slat so that they are fully hidden when the blind is closed, and the slats close more tightly together. When the blind is closed, the bottom rail rotates upwards and the uppermost slat closes against a special light blocking lip on the headrail, reducing pesky light gaps at the bottom and top of the blind.
We round out this amazing blind with a cordless lift feature built right in, and larger 2 1/2" slat for a more contemporary look. Not enough? There are also two optional valances to customize your look!
